Santa Fe & Taos: Art and Enchantment
Our journey to the highlands of New Mexico takes us first to Santa Fe. Nestled at 7,000 feet at the base of the Sangre de Cristo Range and surrounded by piñon and juniper forests, Santa Fe is a thriving art colony set amidst beautiful pueblo revival architecture. The mixture of Native, Spanish and Anglo cultures makes it one of the most culturally rich communities in the United States.

Visit the studios of fascinating, well-known Santa Fe artists and take in not-to-be missed Gerald Peters Gallery, Niman Fine Arts Gallery, featuring the work of Native American artist Dan Namingha, and Karen Ruhlen Gallery, featuring contemporary art. Stroll Canyon Road and meander through the outstanding galleries, stores and eateries. Enjoy some of Santa Fe's renowned Native American and fine arts museums, including the Georgia O'Keefe Museum, Museum of Fine Arts, Wheelwright Museum, Museum of Indian Arts and Culture, and Museum of International Folk Art.

Experience Taos on a day trip that will take us to where artists and writers came to stay in the early years of the 20th century. Explore the 400-year-old Taos Pueblo, the largest multi-storied Pueblo structure in the United States, and meet contemporary artists at Lumina Gallery. Tour the Blumenschein Home and Museum filled with a superb collection of family art as well as a representative sampling of works by other famous Taos artists. Visit the Harwood Museum, featuring outstanding works by many of the best-known 20th century artists who have worked in Taos, including Agnes Martin, John Marin and Marsden Hartley.
