Our tour will focus on the landmark works of Luis Barragán, father of modern Mexican architecture, works by today’s generation of world-renowned architects, and the city’s dynamic contemporary art scene.
Enjoy exclusive tours of Barragán’s residences and public works, including access to his home and studio, Casa Gilardi, Convento Las Capuchinas and Casa Prieto López (based on availability). We will also visit buildings by some of the finest architects in Mexico City today, such as Enrique Norten, Ricardo Legorreta, Mario Schjetnan, Andres Casillas, Alejandro Rivadeneyra and Miguel Angel Aragones.
Enjoy conversations and studio visits with leading architects, artists, gallerists and collectors. Enjoy dinner and a gallery tour at the elegant Casa Lamm in the beautiful gallery district of Colonia Roma. Tour one of the most outstanding corporate contemporary art collections, Colección Jumex, where you will also meet the director and enjoy lunch. Visit the fascinating studio of a prominent artist whose multimedia installations are exhibited throughout the world.
The tour will be led by a noted Barragán scholar and professor of architecture in Mexico City. Accommodations will be at the elegant Camino Real hotel, located in the fashionable Polanco district.
