Yoga and Art on the Green Isle: A Retreat on the West Coast of Ireland

The village of Mulranny is tucked away on the banks of Clew Bay across from majestic Croagh Patrick Mountain. Heather Rise House at the Essence of Mulranny Retreat Center is located in this tiny village. Resting on the hillside with dramatic panoramic vistas of the sea and sky, it is truly an artist's paradise. The rugged unspoiled beauty and peaceful solitude of this area provide a perfect setting for art, yoga, and the creative spirit.
Begin your journey in the city of Galway where you will be staying your first night at the Park House Hotel. Spend the rest of the day exploring Galway's bustling medieval city streets, lively pubs, street musicians and quaint shops and meet fellow participants at a welcome dinner at the hotel that evening.
The next morning, after a tour of Galway, the group will travel together by bus to County Mayo and Heather Rise House, your home for the week. Enjoy daily yoga sessions with Mimi Solaire in the new yoga studio and at the beach (weather permitting). Experiment and play with fiber arts, glass bead making, and found object sculpture under the guidance of artist Cheryl Cobern Browne. Planned outings include visits to Achill Island, with its stunning coastlines and beaches; the monastic ruins of Burrishoole Abbey; the 15th century tower house castle of pirate queen Granuaille; and an afternoon in the charming town of Westport, filled with shops for every taste. The group will return to Galway via a spectacular scenic drive through the Connemara region. Dinner in Galway, your last night, can be followed by a visit to a lively pub to hear musicians play traditional Irish music.

Cost of the yoga and art retreat is $2395.00 US
Single supplement for 2 nights at hotel in Galway is $227.00 (hotel rate is based on December currency conversion, subject to change).
What is Included
Cost includes yoga (1-2 times daily), all breakfasts, 7 dinners, 4 lunches, 2 nights at Park House Hotel in Galway, 6 nights at Heather Rise House, art and craft instruction and art supplies, day tours and excursions, all ground transportation.
Cost of the tour does not include airfare (Dublin or Shannon airport) and transportation (bus or train) to Galway where the tour begins.
A variety of private and semi-private rooms, many with shared baths, are available at Heather Rise House. Rooms will be assigned according to date of attendee's registration.
Retreat will be limited to 10 participants---early registration is advised.

About Mimi Solaire
Mimi loves to move! Her classes are informed by her 25 years of dance and performance experience. She studied dance at Arizona State University, the School of Ballet Arizona and has performed with Opendance since 1994. She received her yoga teacher training from At One Yoga, Phoenix, Arizona. Mimi is a certified by Yoga Alliance at the 500 hr level. She is a member of the Arizona Yoga Alliance and the International Association of Yoga Therapists.
Her eclectic style reflects inspiration received from teachers Paul Grilley, Pattahbi Jois, Rama Berch, Eric Schiffman, Geo Takoma, John Friend, Sarah Powers, Sharon Gannon, David Life, Kee Juan Han and Michele Ceballos. She teaches in Scottsdale/Phoenix Arizona AT One Yoga, Gainey Village Health Club and Spa, and Glendale Community College. Her classes include Basics, Flow, Healthy Backs Yoga, Deep Stretch, Power and Prenatal. Mimi conducts workshops on yoga anatomy, deep stretching and pain/stress reduction.
