Each morning Bonnie attempts to calm her active mind in yoga class. But as much as she tries to clear her thoughts, bright ideas keep popping up. In 1987 she had an excellent one—to start Painted Desert Art & Cultural Tours! Blending her creativity, passion for travel and her love of art and cultures of the world, her company is dedicated to touching lives by creating memorable and enriching travel experiences.

As President of Painted Desert, Bonnie oversees all of the US and international tours and explores and develops new, exciting destinations and itineraries. Bonnie holds a Master’s in Art Education from Arizona State University, and has 10 years teaching experience in history and art, followed by 10 years in art museum education. Her extensive travels throughout Asia Pacific, Europe, Latin America and North America provide a wealth of inspiration for her company’s fascinating spectrum of tour offerings.

Sporting bright red lipstick and matching cowboy boots, one has no doubt about Randee’s favorite color. Red—the embodiment of energy, vibrancy and enthusiasm—reflects Randee’s attitude toward life and her work. As the arts are Randee’s passion, she has served on the executive committee of the award winning Scottsdale Arts Festival for well over a decade, chaired the Greater Columbus, Ohio Arts Festival and served on several other arts and not-for-profit boards.

Randee’s responsibilities at Painted Desert include investigating new tour ideas, researching destinations, developing tour itineraries and following up on the myriad details necessary for Painted Desert’s excellence. Her Master’s in Communication Arts, extensive background in English and education and previous career in retail planning, management and consulting round out Randee’s broad skill set. That coupled with her love for the arts and worldwide travel make Randee a treasured asset at Painted Desert.

When Liza isn’t cooking, traveling or pursuing her life as a painter, she acts as commander at control central here at Painted Desert. Liza’s background and interests cover anything that utilizes both sides of her brain: business, social work, philosophy, teaching, languages and entrepreneurial endeavors. She is truly the liberal artist. Liza is fluent in Spanish and proficient in Italian, she has lived in Spain and has travel extensively throughout Europe, Mexico and the US.

As Director of Operations at Painted Desert, Liza handles a wide range of activities including office management, finances, registration and reviewing the details of itineraries with a fine tooth comb. She holds a BA in Interdisciplinary Humanitites from Michigan State University and has undertaken graduate courses in Womens Studies at Eastern Michigan University. Her passion for arts and culture, business and travel allow her to shine as the main multi-tasker of the organization.
